Michael Taylor, a California native, transitioned from oil painting to welded sculpture after a 1976 mask commission in San Francisco. His work, recognized by the International Leder Guild, has been exhibited globally. Since 1992, he has lived in South Eastern Queensland, elevating mask making in a country with little tradition in this art form.
